Time: 1 hr Servings: 14 Oven: 350F
Ingredients
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 egg
splash of vanilla extract
1 and 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
dark chocolate chunks
Instructions
Over low heat, melt butter over the stove. While whisking, continue to cook butter until it foams then subsides. The butter eventually will become lightly browned and specks will form at the bottom of your pot. It's done when it has a nutty aroma
When butter is done, combine with brown sugar and sugar in a bowl until it resembles wet sand
Add in an egg and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth
Sift in flour and baking soda into the wet ingredients. Gently fold in. Take care not to over mic, which will result in too much air incorporated into your dough-resulting in flat cookies
Gently fold in chocolate chunks
Cover and chill the dough in the fridge for at least 15-20 min (longer the better), and preheat the oven to 350F
Using a spoon or ice cream scoop, scoop out mounds of dough onto a baking sheet, first forming a ball with your hands (about 1.5 inches). Leave 2 inches between each cookies
Bake for 12-15 min or until edges of cookies are browned
