Time: 20 min Servings: 3
Ingredients
3 salmon fillets
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup potato or corn starch
2 cups rice
Sauce
4 tbsp honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp chili flakes
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1/2 tbsp sesame oil
Garnishes
green onion, sliced
sesame seeds
cubed avocado
sliced cucumber
*Optional - nori squares and kewpie mayo
Instructions
Wash rice and begin cooking according to package directions.
Pat salmon dry and lightly salt. Coat the salmon in the starch on both sides and dust off any excess.
In a bowl, mix all sauce ingredients together and set aside.
Turn heat up to medium and drizzle in a little olive oil. Start by cooking the salmon face down for 4 minutes. Flip and cook for another 4 minutes.
Pour in the sauce and cook for another few minutes. The sauce will start to thicken. Keep pouring the sauce over the salmon and turn off the heat when sauce is at the consistency you like.
To assemble, add in some rice and top with the avocado, cucumber, salmon, green onion and sesame seeds. I also like to drizzle some extra sauce on top. Enjoy by itself or with some nori and kewpie mayo! Could also be enjoyed on it's own with a side salad.
