Quick and Cheap Butter Chicken

Time: 35 min Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 2 cups chicken, cubed

  • 1 tbsp garam masala

  • 1 tbsp paprika

  • 1/2 tsp cayenne

  • 2 tbsp plain greek yogurt

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • 1/2 can tomato sauce

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 knob of ginger, grated

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • Cilantro to garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, add chicken, garam masala, paprika, cayenne 1/2 of the minced garlic, 1/2 of the grated ginger and some yogurt. Mix everything thoroughly and rest until ready to cook

  2. In a medium-high heat pan, add chicken and cook on all sides. Make sure to get some browning. Once cooked through, remove and set aside

  3. In the same pan, add in the onion, garlic and ginger. Cook until onions are soft and add salt to taste.

  4. *Optional - add in a tsp of all spices that were added to the chicken into the pan for extra flavour

  5. Add the tomato sauce and cream. Stir until all ingredients are combined

  6. Finally, add in chicken and simmer for 5 min. Serve on top of rice with naan bread garnishing with cilantro
