Beef Udon

Time: 30 min Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 3 udon packs

  • thinly sliced beef flank

  • bok choy *Optional

  • sliced onion

  • minced garlic

  • chopped green onion

  • sesame seeds to garnish

Marination

  • 1/4 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • splash of oil

  • splash of dark soy sauce

  • pepper to taste

Sauce

  • 3 tbsp brown sugar

  • 2 and 1/2 tbsp dark soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup light soy sauce

  • 1 and 1/2 tbsp korean chili powder *Optional

  • 1/4 tsp ginger

Instructions

  1. Marinade thinly sliced beef in all marination ingredients

  2. Cook udon noodles according to package instructions and set aside

  3. Mix sauce ingredients in a separate bowl

  4. Cook beef in a pan on med-high heat in oil

  5. Remove beef and in the same pan, cook your garlic and onion

  6. Add in udon noodle and the sauce. Cook until sauce is incorporated with the noodle

  7. Finally, add back in beef and top with green onion and sesame seeds
